#ThinkLanguages Champion Team of the Year Competition
The #ThinkLanguages Champion Team Competition runs in parallel to #ThinkLanguages Week and recognises the contribution of students to the promotion of the many personal, professional and social benefits of foreign language skills during #ThinkLanguages Week. Once again a spectacular prize was on offer for 2024 – a trip to Brussels, the languages capital of Europe which was kindly funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs for a second year, as part of the A Career for EU Strategy.

#ThinkLanguages Champion Team Competition Winners 2024
To enter the competition, schools had to submit their #ThinkLanguages Week festival lineup as well as details of their personal contribution to the event. Four finalists were shortlisted and invited to the Department of Education for the national final which took place in January where they presented learnings and insights from their #ThinkLanguages experience. The 2024 finalists included Ennistymon Community School, Presentation Secondary Thurles, Nenagh College and Beaufort College. The judges were thoroughly impressed by all teams, with Beaufort College being awarded top prize on the day of the final.
Students L-R: Aymen Serouti, Osborn T. Osasu, Elliott Kristiansen, Sean Mitchell, Laurentiu Sirit, Maria Hangan and their teacher Joanne Fong.
