Romanian in Ireland

There is a strong Romanian community in Ireland. According to the Census 2016, about 29,000 Romanian nationals live in Ireland.

These students took part in summer camps to meet other teenagers in Ireland who speak their heritage language (mother tongue).

 

Opportunities in Romania

The service industry employs about 50% of people in Romania. The main areas are business activities, renting, financial services, transports, restaurants, and trade. Agriculture and mining are also key industries in Romania.

In 2016, Romania had the largest economic growth in the European Union (Eurostat).
