MS Readathon 2023

MS Readathon 2023

Try reading in another language!

The MS Readathon begins again and we are delighted to be a partner once more, bringing a foreign language element to Ireland’s biggest sponsored reading initiative to raise funds for multiple sclerosis.

While inspiring kids to read, the MS Readathon has also been raising much needed funds for an incredible cause since 1988.

This year, it will be more fun than ever with online resources available for kids, teachers and parents to use during the epic reading adventure.

To partake, you just have to read whatever you like, as much as you can, during the month of November.

'Today A Reader, Tomorrow A Leader' quote by Margaret Fuller

Once again, there will be a foreign language category which gives children the opportunity to try reading books in a different language. For those with a heritage language other than English or Irish, it is a great chance to read together and share their language skills. It is also a great chance to win some prizes!

Competition to win an iPad!

Languages Connect have sponsored two prizes for the winners of this brilliant reading challenge; iPads!

To be in with a chance to win one of these, participants must raise €50 or more and read and log at least one book in a foreign language (excluding English & Irish).

Every €50 raised will get you another entry into the draw!

For inspiration on what language to choose, check out Explore Languages to find a language that best suits your interests. For ideas of what books you might read, check out our Recommended Reading Lists which are aimed at children and young people.

Children can register to take part in the MS Readathon with their school (teachers, you can register your class) or individually.
