Non-curricular Leaving Certificate Ukrainian

Ukrainian has been available as a non-curricular examination paper for the Leaving Certificate since 2025.

What are non-curricular examination papers? In addition to curricular languages, such as French, German, or Polish, the Leaving Certificate also has exam options for non-curricular languages. These languages are typically not available as subject areas in schools. The exams for non-curricular languages have reading and written assessments only. According to the State Examinations Commission website, students may opt to be examined in a non-curricular language if they meet certain criteria.

Information Sessions

To support students interested in taking the Ukrainian Leaving Certificate exam, we host an annual online information session, usually in October. The session provides guidance on what the exam involves, who can take it, how to register, and where to find past papers and marking schemes. Further details and registration information will be shared closer to the date.
