In a recent article published by the National Centre for Guidance in Education, Karen Ruddock, director the Post-Primary Languages Initiative and lead partner of Languages Connect, offers guidance on how the new DES languages strategy for Ireland promotes language learning “with a focus on employability using foreign languages, including a range of career videos from a wide array of professions to demonstrate how crucial it is to engage with language learning.”
She also introduces some of the resources developed in conjunction with the NCGE – A Whole School Guidance Framework for use by career guidance departments in schools that can be found here.
