Exchanges Funding FAQs

The maximum amount of funding is €5,000 per annum for up to 3 years. Students travelling within Europe will be awarded a maximum of €250 per student, students travelling to Asia will be awarded a maximum of €500 per student.

Yes, there is a minimum of 10 students for all exchanges.

The grant will be paid at the beginning of the academic year.

Students/parents should contribute to the cost of the exchange, so that the exchange continues after the funding has stopped.

Funding may not include: substitution, hotel accommodation or private transport for teachers.

The exchange must be at least 7 days, including travel days, ideally 9+ days so that students can experience a full 7 day week.

The visiting students (both directions) should be there during term time, so that students can experience school in the target language country.

Students should experience a minimum of 1 full day of regular classes in school, preferably more.

Yes, all exchanges need a student social media leader who will post a small number of photos and short videos on social media. We also encourage schools to contact local papers and local radio stations about the exchange.

Yes, an annual report, including a financial report, must be submitted within 4 weeks of the end of the second part of your exchange.

No, funding is available for new exchanges, or schools who haven’t had an exchange since 2017.
