#ThinkLanguages Week 2025
#ThinkLanguages on Campus!
This year for #ThinkLanguages Week, universities across the country are giving schools the opportunity to get an insight into life on campus when studying a language.
Your school could organise a visit from a Student Language Ambassador during #ThinkLanguages Week or a trip to a campus to discover more about life as a language student.
Please be advised that events are subject to change and that certain limitations on students numbers may apply.

Celebrate #ThinkLanguages Week at DCU! We are hosting taster language sessions, which will include a practical culture workshop. All taster sessions will be delivered through the medium of the celebrated language so it is a good opportunity to improve your language skills. The events will run from Monday 17 – Friday 21 November between 10am and 12pm.
Student Ambassadors, freshly returned from their year abroad, will share their first-hand experience of what it is like to live and study in Spain, Japan, Germany, France and China.

Dundalk Institute of Technology is hosting language events on Thursday 20th of November from 10 am to 2pm as part as the #Think Languages week.
We are happy to welcome students on campus to avail of campus tours, information sessions with lecturers and current students and presentations related to Erasmus opportunities as well as interactive cultural workshops to practice French and Spanish and to try a new language like Chinese.
In Schools: If you can’t make it on campus, we are happy to bring these workshops and informative sessions to your school during the academic year.

There will be three days of events at Maynooth University. During the event students will have the opportunity to tour the campus, engage with language taster sessions and other interactive cultural activities, and meet student ambassadors.

At MTU, we are delighted to announce our Student Language Ambassadors will be available to visit secondary schools during #ThinkLanguages Week. The Ambassadors will chat to students about their language learning journey, their amazing Erasmus experiences, and their plans for after graduation.
Students will get the opportunity to discuss what it is like to study a language at college and ask the ambassadors questions about their studies.

Based on the success from the last three years we propose to build on our initiatives with a series of workshop events over the academic year to bring to campus 2nd-level students to take part in an experiential, interactive language-in-use experiences; In the academic year 2025-26, we will organise a series of Languages Events/Workshops. The first one will take place on Friday 21 November and will take place on TU Dublin campus (Aungier Street).
TU Dublin Language Ambassadors will also be available to visit to local schools.

TUS will have a core group of student ambassadors who are excited to share their experiences with other students. They aim to complete 20 ambassador visits to schools during ‘Think Languages’ week. Students will share how studying a language has shaped their college experience so far and how they intend to continue developing their language skills.

Fluent futures – unlock your language potential with Think Languages at UCC! A Transition Year language course held on campus at University College Cork on 17, 18, 20 November 2025, during #Think Languages Week. Workshops and taster sessions will deliver a lively and engaging programme of activities related to studying languages at third level. This will feature 8 languages; Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish.
UCC are also happy to welcome students on campus to avail of campus tours, taster languages classes, information sessions with course directors and information sessions about Erasmus opportunities.

University of Galway would like to offer TY students the chance to taste languages through ludic activities, quizzes, and games, to meet our postgraduate students as well as explore the benefits of choosing a university path with a language. During a full-day workshop students can pick up two languages (German, French, Spanish and Italian) workshops and enjoy the experience of being a student at the University of Galway.

UL will host a one-day event that will include a variety of language and culture-awareness raising activities and language-learning workshops. These include calligraphy, script writing, music and dance, multilingual and multicultural escape room, and language and culture trivia quiz. Student ambassador visits to schools also.

Shannon College of Hotel Management are delighted to be taking part in the 2025 #ThinkLanguages week 2025. They will have student language ambassadors on hand to promote language awareness and the benefits of having a language at third level. Part of their programme includes 21 months of paid international work placements across leading hotels. Many of our students will have just returned from these placements and will be happy to share their insights of living abroad and immersing yourself in the languages and cultures.
Our students will be available to dial into classes during #ThinkLanguages week to chat with students and teachers.
