#ThinkLanguages Week 2025
#ThinkLanguages Week set to be biggest yet!
#ThinkLanguages Week set to be biggest yet!
#ThinkLanguages registration is now closed and with over 21,000 students from across 240 schools, this year is set to be the biggest celebration of languages and cultures yet!
The national TY event, now in its eighth year has evolved into a festival style event and has expanded from a day to a week-long celebration, allowing schools to create a festival that best suits their schools setting and schedule. Schools can now start planning to prepare a jam packed schedule of interactive workshops, inspirational speakers, an insightful Opening Ceremony and more!

Partners
This year Languages Connect have teamed up with several partners including the Irish Film Institute, Cultural Institutes, the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Universities across the country.
Our partners are set to take languages out of the textbooks and into the wider world by providing interactive workshops, films and speakers, each providing an insight on where language skills can take students. Schools will have the opportunity to watch a language film by visiting the IFI at their Dublin venue, or by streaming a language film in their school. Universities are set to have students visiting their campus’ for an insight into studying languages at third level. Cultural Institutes will provide onsite workshops, guest speakers and online events for students interested!
Communities of Practice
Our upcoming #ThinkLanguages Community of Practice sessions are an excellent opportunity for teachers from registered schools to share ideas, connect with experienced teachers, and have questions answered by the PPLI team and associates.
To register for either Monday 13 October 7:30pm or Wednesday 15 October 7:30pm click here.
The Irish Film Institute will also be holding an Information Session online on Wednesday 22 October from 7:30pm-8:30pm.

Planning Packs & Event Resources
To support schools with their preparations, registered schools will be sent event kit packs. A Champion Team Handbook will help guide students and teachers through what can be done before, during and after the event. Posters to promote the day in the school and beyond are also included in the pack. A mix of supports including a pre-recorded opening ceremony with inspirational speakers, online language workshops, and a selection of live workshops have also been made available for the events nationwide.
