Spanish Competition Winners
Congratulations to Andoni Oskoz and Paddy Healy from Summerhill College, Sligo who were awarded first place in this year’s Spanish video competition. The lucky team have won a one-week language scholarship in Castilla y León, Spain, this summer, with flights and accommodation included.
Entrants were tasked with producing a two minute video in Spanish “set” in a National Park in Castilla y León and were rewarded for creativity and cultural knowledge, as well as language competence.
Sam Varley and Ohri Imbusch from Limerick Educate Together Secondary School won second place while Jenna Dempsey and Iris Garcia Murillo from Bremore Educate Together Secondary School, Dublin placed third. Both teams have won a one-week language scholarship in Castilla y León this summer, with accommodation included.

Spanish Ambassador Ion de la Riva Guzmán de Frutos presented the winning teams with their awards at a special reception at the Spanish embassy recently. The competition is a collaboration between Languages Connect, Consejería de Educación de la Embajada de España en Dublin, La Junta de Castilla y León, and the Spanish Tourist Office in Dublin, who were also in attendance at the prize giving. Congratulations to the winners!
